Johnstown loses opener

QUEENSBURY – Queensbury won all five singles matches and both doubles contests on its way to a 7-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council girls tennis match Tuesday.

Rebecca Sung, Lindsey White, Anne Porto, Olivia Fraser and Berlyn Barboza all won singles matches for the Spartans. Holly Raesly and Francesca Della Bella won at first doubles for Queensbury, while Kiley Whalen and Deanna Mathewson won at second doubles.

Johnstown is scheduled to host Scotia-Glenville today at 4:30 p.m.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – In its debut match in the Foothills Council, Amsterdam cruised to a sweep of South Glens Falls, as all seven matches were decided in straight sets.

Kristie Kaczmarek, Ella Dybas, Audrey Flint, Caitlin Gannon and Tessa Filiberto won singles matches for the Lady Rams.

Gianna Quatrini and Gabby DiSalvi won at first doubles for Amsterdam, while Molly Monger and Prabha Singh won at second doubles.
