Man charged in fatal 2013 crash
AMSTERDAM – An Amsterdam man involved in a March 2013 two-car crash that killed three people has been indicted on manslaughter and other charges, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
David W. Bain, of 54 Edward St., failed to keep right on Route 67 in the town of Amsterdam on March 10, 2013, and collided with another vehicle operated by Tanya Sleight, a news release from the Sheriff’s Department said. Three people in Sleight’s vehicle was killed in the accident, including Sleight, 33, her son, Elijah Sleight, 9, and Chyara Concepcion, 39.
Bain, arrested on a warrant, was charged with three counts of second-degree manslaughter, three counts of criminal negligent homicide, second-degree assault, reckless driving and failure to keep right, the news release said.
Witnesses to the accident stated Bain crossed the double solid yellow lines on Route 67, the news release said.
Bain was taken into custody at his residence and arraigned in Montgomery County Court. He was remanded to the county jail on $25,000 cash bail.
