Library slates sale, events for Sept.

BROADALBIN – The Wilkinson Memorial Book Station will hold an end of summer book sale to raise funds for the library and clear the shelves to make way for new material.

The sale will be held at the library, 25 N. Main St., on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The library will be selling older paperbacks in order to keep a smaller, more updated collection, a news release said. There will also be a large number of books on cassette tape available as the library makes space for newer audio books on CD.

The following titles are scheduled to arrive this week: “Terminal City” by Linda Fairstein; “The Keeper” by John Lescroart; “Vertigo 42” by Martha Grimes; “No Safe House” by Linwood Barclay; and “Written In My Own Heart’s Blood” by Diana Gabaldon. Also on order are new copies of Lois Lowry’s “The Giver” and “Gathering Blue,” books one and two of the “Giver Quartet,” the release said.

There will be a children’s workshop on leaf printing Sept. 20 and 27. More detailed information will follow as it becomes available. People can call the library at 883-5976 with any questions.
