Toys for Tots 5K great
On behalf of the Toys for Tots Campaign of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, I want to express my thanks to all who participated in our first 5K held in Mayfield during the Bannertown Fair. You made it possible for our first 5K to be a success. Even though it was a cold and damp evening, you were there to support our program. A thank you to all the volunteers who registered participants, manned the water station and directed the racers on the course. I especially want to thank Mike and Wendy Kwiatkowski for their hard work and enthusiasm in putting the 5K together. Even though we didn’t have as many participants as was hoped for, we were still able to help raise money toward the 2014 campaign.
And a very special thanks to our sponsors: Main Motorcar, Johnstown; Mohawk Valley Orthopedics, Amsterdam; First Choice Financial FCU, Johnstown; The Bagwell Ranch, Broadalbin; Gils Garage, Burnt Hills; Cliff’s Auto Body Repair, Scotia; Dominic and Dee Kwiatkowski, Broadalbin; Walmart Supercenter, Gloversville; McDonald’s, Johnstown; Saratoga Eagle Distributors, Saratoga Springs; Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, Gloversville; Fuel and Food, Mayfield; Johnstown Fire Department; Stewart’s Shops, Saratoga Springs; Hannaford, Gloversville; and Road ID, Ft. Mitchell, Ky.
I also have to thank the Fulmont Roadrunners for setting up their timing equipment to ensure that our participants’ times were recorded accurately, and the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department for its assistance.
Mike and Wendy are planning on chairing the Second Annual Toys for Tots 5K next year. We hope that all who attended will come again and bring a buddy.
