Royal Mountain wraps up supercross season

CAROGA LAKE – Several area riders posted wins on the final night of racing in the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season at Royal Mountain Ski Area on Wednesday.

Fonda’s Tyler Blowers won the mini 80cc 12- to 15-year-old and open mini 10- to 16-year-old classes, while Johnstown’s Phil Manchester won the 122-250 expert and 122-open expert classes.

St. Johnsville’s Cameron Snell won the mini quad 50cc production class, while Fort Plain’s Ashton Neff won the 50cc pee wee junior 4- to 6-year-old class.

Johnstown’s Bennett Melita won the 50cc pee wee senior 7-and 8-year-old class. Melita also placed fourth in the mini 60cc 7- to 11-year-old class.

Johnstown’s P.J. Bryant won the side-by-side sport class, while Johnstown’s Todd Cleveland won the plus-30 expert class.

Fort Plain’s Zackery Kollar won the 122-250 amateur class and placed third in the 122-open amateur class.

Johnstown’s Casey Battisti won the 122-250 novice class and placed second in the 122-open novice class.

Other winners included Queensbury’s Mason St. John-Lemery (mini quad 51-90cc production), Troy’s Peter Miller (quad novice), Earlton’s Luke Ganance (junior mini 9-11), Queensbury’s Tyler Jarvis (quad amateur), Cairo’s Kyle McAlister (quad expert), Queensbury’s Connor Cross (quad schoolboy), Saratoga Springs’ Tony Caton (pit bike), Marcy’s Greg Bussey (plus-30 amateur), Saratoga Springs’ Isaac Lawyer (mini 80cc 9-11), Poland’s Kaden Ozog (mini 60cc 7-11), Fort Edward’s Matt Liebig (plus-40 amateur), Catskill’s Kyle Brandow (122-open amateur) and Queensbury’s Edward Ladd III (122-open novice).

Several other area riders posted top-10 finishes.

In the mini quad 51-90cc production class, Mayfield’s Jordan Miller was second and Johnstown’s Jason Morrison Jr. was third.

Miler also placed sixth in the mini 60cc 7- to 11-year-old class, while St. Johnsville’s Aidyn Macri was eighth.

Johnstown’s Max Miller was third in the 50cc pee wee junior 4- to 6-year-old class, while Johnstown’s Brennan Melita was fifth.

In the quad amateur class, Gloversville’s Brian Sitterly was second, Galway’s Duncan Peters was third, Broadalbin’s Colby Watras was fourth and Gloversville’s E.J. McAuliffe was fifth.

Johnstown’s Jack Miller was third in the 50cc pee wee senior 7-and-8-year-old class, while Amsterdam’s Caden Dumblewski was fourth.

In the pit bike class, Gloversville’s Shane Graham was second, Gloversville’s Jordan Ryle was third, St. Johnsville’s Jake Tennis was fifth, Gloversville’s Jason Cook was seventh, Gloversville’s Kyle Chase was eighth and Matt Jones was 10th.

Fonda’s Carter Peterson was second in the mini 80cc 9- to 11-year-old class, while Johnstown’s Brandon Handy was fourth in the mini 80cc 12- to 15-year-old class.

Peterson also placed third in the mini 60cc 7- to 11-year-old class, while Handy also was second in the open mini 10- to 16-year-old class.

In the plus-30 amateur class, Tribes Hill’s Tim Newkirk was second, Pattersonville’s Mike Baker was ninth and St. Johnsville’s Ed Macri was 10th.

Fort Hunter’s Brian Carpenter was fifth in the 122-250 amateur class, Stratford’s Jacob Danyew was sixth and Fort Plain’s Dakota Nemecek was seventh. Danyew also placed fifth in the 122-open amateur class.

Gloversville’s Reid Persch was fifth and Pattersonville’s Mike Baker was 10th in the 122-250 novice class.

Persch also placed third in the 122-open novice class, Gloversville’s Sean Dufel was fourth, Palatine Bridge’s David Wall was ninth and Johnstown’s Sean Smith was 10th.

St. Johnsville’s Ed Macri was fifth in the plus-40 amateur class, while Gloversville’s Keith Orr was eighth.
