Gloversville golfers fall to Bulldogs in Foothills opener

GLOVERSVILLE – Andrew Harper shot a round of 42 to lead South Glens Falls to a 4-stroke victory over Gloversville 198-202 in Foothills Council golf action Monday at Kingsboro Golf Course.

Kyle Fonda paced the Huskies with his round of 45, while Kyle Johnston shot 48, Justin Putnam had 50 and Dylan Sweeney finished with a round of 59.

Ryan Mahardy posted a round of 50 for the Bulldogs and Ryan Gabyshack and Trevor Telisky both finished with rounds of 53.

Johnstown 171, Hudson Falls 220

JOHNSTOWN – Chris Geleta earned medalist honors with his round of 37 to lead the Sir Bills past Hudson Falls Monday at Fox Run Golf Course.

Ben Wager joined Geleta with a round of 43, while Stephen Russo shot 45 and Ben Russo 46 for Johnstown.

Derreck Crandall paced the Tigers with a 42, while Ayden Murphy shot 52, Tom Kiernan 60 and Kerri Pheifer 66.

Queensbury 142, Broadalbin-Perth 152

VAIL MILLS – Colin Gaunt and Noah Bonn each finished with rounds of 35, leading Queensbury to a Foothills Council win over Broadalbin-Perth at Holland Meadows Golf Course.

Josh Bonn and Alex Kinney each carded rounds of 36 for the Spartans.

Alex Bond and Brett Getman each posted rounds of 34 for Broadalbin-Perth, while Noah Scott added a 41. Nick Scavia had a 43 for the Patriots.

SCHOHARIE – Mayfield-Northville’s Jordon Fordyce shot a 41 to lead all scorers and Frank Coulter shot 51 during league action Monday.

Kenny Travis paced Fort Plain with his round of 58, while McKay Nare shot a 59 for the Hilltoppers.

Joe Polley led Schoharie with his round of 54 and Aaron France and Nick Wilsey both shot 51 for Middleburgh.

Canajoharie 12, Duanesburg 3

CANAJOHARIE – Sam Shostek and Austin Countryman both shot sectional qualifying scores of 42 to lead the Canajoharie Cougars to victory Monday at Canajoharie Country Club.

Michael Balfe chipped in with a 47, followed by Trevor Bowerman with a 56, Travis Colegrove with 64 and Willie Parrino with a 66.

Pat McTarry paced Duanesburg with his round of 41, while Nick Loukides shot 51, Tom Cassale 55 and Jeff Schmitt 56.

Waterford-Halfmoon 228, Fonda-Fultonville 272

HALFMOON – Fonda-Fultonville’s Adam DeSorbo earned medalist honors with his round of 45 Monday at Fairways of Halfmoon.

Alec Mahon shot 75 for the Braves while Garrett Kowalczyk and Ethan Harding both carded rounds of 76.

Tom Bell led Waterford-Halfmoon with his round of 53, while Connor Meehan shot 57 and Hannah Phelan and Connor Houle shot 59.
