Area players enjoying time at Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Several area Little League baseball players have been in attendance at the Little League World Series since it began on Aug. 14.

A total of nine area players were part the Maietta-Buonome All-Stars team, which was comprised of District 12 players.

Collin Hennessey and Dan Kelly of Gloversville Little League; Jack Marsden and Brodryk Benton of Broadalbin-Perth Little League; Dawson Sanges, Abe Miller and Noah Massey of Johnstown Little League; and Matt Zumbolo and Cade Kearns of Fonda-Fultonville Little League were all part of the District 12 squad.

District 12 consists of teams from the Gloversville, Broadalbin-Perth, Fonda-Fultonville, Duanesburg, Schoharie, Rotterdam-Carman, Schenectady and Scotia-Glenville Little Leagues.

The process included playing four games in Scotia with players selected by the district administrators before narrowing the roster to 18 players.

The team has played several exhibition games while in Williamsport on the original Little League park at Stotz Field.

Rounding out the team will be Scotia-Glenville Little League’s Jason Carusone, Tyler Cannoe, Addison Schaub and Andrew LeMorta; Rotterdam-Carman Little League’s Eric Starr and Drew Coelho; Schoharie Little League’s Tim Palmer; Duanesburg Little League’s Zack Gamache; and Schenectady Little League’s Bilal Braswell.

The team was coached by Bob Gamache (Duanesburg Little League), Dom LeMorta (Scotia-Glenville Little League) and Ed English (District 12 Assistant District Administrator).
