Police investigate Amsterdam shooting

AMSTERDAM – City police said officers are investigating a shooting that took place early Tuesday at a Garden Street home.

A man entered the home around 3:45 a.m. Tuesday and fired several shots at one of the occupants, police said. The resident was unharmed and able to flee, police said. Three other occupants of the apartment, who were in a different room, were also unharmed.

Police said a witness saw two men fleeing the area immediately after the shooting.

Police said Tuesday officers were canvassing the area for any potential witnesses or video surveillance. The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to call 842-1100.
