Memoir-writing workshop set at senior center

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown Public Library will host a pair of memoir-writing workshops for new and seasoned writers titled “What’s Your Story” at the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center.

Designed to help writers bring family stories to the page, these interactive workshops will encourage participants to recall early memories, a news release said. Focusing on writing techniques using vivid and descriptive language, presenter Susannah Risley will offer support to make memories come alive, the release said.

This is a two-part program scheduled for Sept. 17 and Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon both days. Call either the library (762-8317) or the Senior Center (762-4643) to register.

This program series is made possible by the state Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state Legislature. The program is sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Library System and participating member libraries.
