Local riders post wins at Monster Supercross

CAROGA LAKE – Five riders scored double victories during Monster Energy Drink Supercross action Thursday night at Royal Mountain Ski Center.

Fultonville’s John Fonda III took top honors in the Mini 60cc 7 to 11-year old and Mini 80cc 9 to 11-year old divisions.

Johnstown’s Phil Manchester picked up wins in the 122-Open Expert and 122-250 Expert classes, while Zackery Kollar of Fort Plain won the 122-250 Amateur and the 122-Open Amateur divisions.

Catskill’s Kyle Brandow also was a double winner on the night topping the podium in the 122-250 Novice and 122-Open Novice divisions.

Edward Ladd Jr. of Hudson Falls won the Plus 30 and Plus 40 Amateur classes and placed third in the 122-Open Novice competition.

Jordan Miller of Mayfield topped the field in the Mini quad 51-90cc production class, while Cameron Snell on St. Johnsville won the Mini quad 50cc production division.

Johnstown’s Brandon Handy topped the field in the Open Mini 10 to 16-year-old division and was second in the Mini 80cc 12 to 15-year-old class.

Schenectady’s Tyler Pechtel won the Junior Mini 9 to 11-year-old division, while Kenneth Deridder of Middle Grove won the Mini 80cc 12 to 15-year-old division and was second in the Open Mini 10 to 16-year-old class.

Tyler Jarvis of Queensbury topped Broadalbin’s Josh Deuel in the Quad Novice division, while Connor Cross of Queensbury won the Quad Schoolboy class.

Duncan Peters of Galway picked up the win in the Quad Amateur division over Colby Watras (Broadalbin), Brian Sitterly (Gloversville), E.J. McAuliffe (Gloversville and Devon Malbouf (Copenhagen).

Bryden Broe of Queensbury topped Ashton Neff (Ft. Plain), Robert Sprague (Glens Falls) and Cayden Bishop (Johnstown) in the 50cc Pee-Wee Jr. 4 to 6-year-old class, while Bennett Melita won the 50 cc Pee-Wee Sr. 7 to 8-year-old division and was fourth in the Mini 60cc 7 to 11-year-old class.

Royal Mountain will close out its season-long point battle Wednesday night with a special awards night scheduled for Aug. 27.
