Police: Prank leads to false call

GLOVERSVILLE – Police were sent on a false call after a prank Tuesday morning.

According to city police, officers responded to 47 Park St. on a report from an occupant that someone just entered the home with an AK-47. On arrival, officers set up a perimeter until additional personnel arrived, police said.

However, during the course of the response, police learned the report was the result of a juvenile playing a prank on their parent, police said.

The juvenile was brought to the station for further interview.

Police said they thank area residents for complying with police directives, and the family of the juvenile apologized for the inconvience.
