Successful Summer

The Broadalbin-Perth Little League Major Division district all-star team won the Section 3 Tournament for the second straight year July 23, defeating Cairo-Durham in this year’s championship game.

B-P’s team played against Albany American, Mohawk Valley Woodstock and Cairo-Durham on its way to the title.

The team included Preston Famiglietti, Michael Cichy, Brodryk Benton, Justin Hertik, Jacob Galarneau, Jack Marsden, Dante Calderone, Hunter Monks, Josh Huckans and Aiden Holz.

The team was coached by Jeff Hertik and Christine Holz, while Cheryl Galarneau was the manager.

The team also won the District 12 Tournament for a second straight year.

The Broadalbin-Perth all-stars competed against Johnstown, Fonda-Fultonville, Duanesburg and Schoharie at the Johnstown Little League complex.

The championship was played against Duanesburg in a best-of-three series in Johnstown. B-P lost the opening game, before winning the final two contests to earn the District 12 title.

Three players from the Broadalbin-Perth all-star team, Brodryk Benton, Jacob Galarneau and Marsden, were selected by the district administrators to compete in a Best of the Best Tournament, which took place at the Scotia-Glenville Little League complex.

The team included Jacob Galarneau, Brodryk Benton, Dante Calderone, Michael Cichy, Aiden Holz, Preston Famiglietti, Kyle Denman, Joshua Huckans, Jack Marsden, Hunter Monks, Justin Hertik, Cedric Boehme and Sam Vainauskas.

The team was coached by Jeff Hertik, Jay Marsden and Christine Holz, while Cheryl Galarneau was the manager.
