Two teens accused of shooting BB gun
GLEN – Two teens were arrested by Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies on criminal mischief charges Thursday stemming from incidents involving the shooting of a BB gun at area properties.
Deputies said Brandon M. Akey, 19, of 316 W. Clinton St., Johnstown, and Collin J. Hanson, 19, of 208 Marie Drive, Fonda, were charged. They face three counts of second-degree criminal mischief, felonies; and one count of third-degree criminal mischief and two counts of making a punishable false written statement, both misdemeanors.
Deputies said the suspects were charged after an investigation into multiple criminal mischief cases in town. Deputies said Akey and Hanson damaged property by shooting a BB gun from a vehicle at farm equipment, road signs and vehicles.
They were arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail and $5,000 bond each. They will reappear in court at 2 p.m. Aug. 7.
