Mohawks fall short at Albany, 7-4
ALBANY – The Amsterdam Mohawks had their six-game win streak snapped in their regular-season finale Wednesday in a 7-4 loss to Albany in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest at Bellizzi Field.
Ernie Clement went 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored for Albany (21-24 overall), while Sean Aspinall was 2-for-2 with a double, his 12th of the season.
Alex DeBellis and Blake Logan each hit their third home run of the season for Amsterdam. Logan finished the game 2-for-4.
Brendan Tracy and Jack Czesewski each had two hits for the Mohawks.
Albany will travel to Little Falls today to face Mohawk Valley in a one-game playoff at 7:05 p.m. Amsterdam, which finished the regular season with a league-best 36-11 record, will face either Albany or Mohawk Valley on Friday in the first game of the best-of-three East Division finals at 6:35 p.m. at Shuttleworth Park.
