Man pleads guilty to rape
FONDA – A Tribes Hill man pleaded guilty to rape in Montgomery County Court on Wednesday.
David Andrews, 61, of 104 Fourth Ave., Tribes Hill, pleaded guilty to first-degree rape, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Jed Conboy.
Andrews is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 22 at 9:30 a.m. Conboy said Andrews is facing 19 years in state prison with 10 years of post-release supervision when he is sentenced.
In April, state police announced Andrews was charged with first degree rape, first degree criminal sexual act, first degree sexual conduct against a child, predatory sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said the arrest came from an investigation conducted by the State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Police said the investigation revealed Andrews had made arrangements with an adult male via the Internet and provided the man with a child younger than 13. Police allege the adult male Andrews had made arrangements with engaged in various sexual acts with the child that Andrews provided him. Police said Andrews arranged a child for the adult man to have sex with on two separate occasions.
The investigation also revealed Andrews engaged in various sexual conduct with a child younger than 13 on multiple occasions over the course of several months, according to the release.
