Pioneers defeat Mohawks, 3-1
ELMIRA – The Amsterdam Mohawks came up on the short end of the 3-1 score against the Elmira Pioneers in Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League action Thursday night at Dunn Field.
The Pioneers (23-17) put three runs on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning with a three-run home run by Zac Bellinger.
The Mohawks (30-10) got a run back in the top of the ninth with Thomas Kain singling, advancing to second on a wild pitch and scoring on an RBI double by Alex DeBellis for the 3-1 final score.
Amsterdam returns to Shuttleworth Park tonight for a game against the Adirondack Trailblazers.
The final fireworks show of the season will take place after the game.
