Leully Boucher (Lou), 92, of Bleecker/Caroga Lake Road, wife of Amos Boucher, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was born April 29, 1922, in St. Agatha, Maine, daughter of the late Josephel and Rosa (Labbe) Daigle. As a young woman, she had moved to Lewiston, Maine and worked at the New England Shipbuilding of South Portland, building Naval vessels during World War II. Her first son, Kenneth died at a very young age in a fire. After the war, she and her husband, along with their second son, Richard, moved from Maine to Caroga Lake, New York. She had lived in this area for most of her life. She worked at Decca Records for many years and later at Adirondack Bat Company and Wood & Hyde, all in Gloversville, NY. She loved animals and had some horses where she proudly rode her favorite horse, June, in many horse shows, winning many ribbons. She even enjoyed snowmobiling and would go on day trips with members of the snowmobile club she belonged to. Growing up on a potato farm in St. Agatha, she had vegetable gardens for many years and supplied her sons and close friends with produce including bushels of potatoes.
She is survived by two sons, Richard and Patrick (Toni) Boucher of Gloversville; a sister, Claudette Boucher of Sinclair, Maine; and a brother, Ronald Chasse of Madewaska, Maine; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Amos; sisters, Mildred Claywell, Ethel Chasse, Georgette Daigle; brothers, Adolphe and Rodrigue Daigle; stepbrothers, Clifford, Luke, Henry, Paul and Donald Chasse; stepsisters, Gladys Leet, Cecile Chasse, Aline Chasse, Frances Duncan, Lorette Bard, Martha Chasse, and Albina Chasse.
Mom had a full life. Her laughter and her French-Canadian accent will also be missed.
There will be no calling hours and no funeral service. Interment was private. Cremation was arranged by Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home. A gravesite Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Prospect Hill Cemetery (Section 112) at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Leully’s memory to Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, NY 12078 or Equine Advocates, P.O.
