Mohawks post win over Glens Falls, 7-4

AMSTERDAM – After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Amsterdam Mohawks scored four times in the second and three times in the third on their way to a 7-4 win over Glens Falls in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game at Shuttleworth Park on Wednesday.

The Mohawks won for the 23rd time in their last 25 games.

Thomas Kain was 2-for-3 with a solo home run for Amsterdam (25-8 overall), while Blake Logan had a home run and two RBIs.

Marcus Carson was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Mohawks, while Jack Czeszewski had a single and an RBI.

Mark Powell was 2-for-5 for Glens Falls, while Colton Montgomery was 2-for-4 with a home runs and three RBIs.

Glens Falls (13-19 overall) is scheduled to travel to Albany for a doubleheader on Friday at 5 p.m.

The Mohawks will be back in action tonight, hosting Albany at 6:35 p.m. at Shuttleworth Park.

Amsterdam also is scheduled to be home Saturday, hosting Mohawk Valley in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. Following the game, there will be a fireworks display.
