Mohawks get past Watertown, 6-4

WATERTOWN – The Amsterdam Mohawks improved to 22-2 in their last 24 games with a 6-4 win over Watertown in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest Monday at Duffy Fairgrounds.

Josh Gardiner was 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs for the Mohawks, who improved to 24-8 overall.

Thomas Kain had a single and an RBI for Amsterdam, while Joe Purritano, John Razzino, Brendan Tracy and Jack Czesewski also had hits.

Shane Servoss and Matt Diorio each had two hits for Watertown (18-14). Diorio also had two RBIs for the Rams.

Amsterdam will send 10 players to today’s PGCBL all-star game at Elmira’s Dunn Field at 4 p.m. Amsterdam coach Keith Griffith will lead the East Division all-star team.
