Counties receive grants for services
Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton counties’ emergency services will receive more than $50,000 in Emergency Management Performance Grants, according to a news release from Governor Andrew Cuomo.
According to the release, the funds are used to support emergency management staff positions and for related planning, training and exercise activities and eligible equipment purchases. Funding for the grant is provided through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
In total, Montgomery County received $23,952, Fulton County received $25,957 and Hamilton County received $6,825.
More than $7 million was awarded across the state. The grants require a 50 percent cost match, the release said.
