Operation nets two sex offender arrests

FULTONVILLE – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recently completed “Operation Restore Montgomery County”, arresting two registered sex offenders.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office had spent four months performing compliance checks on every registered sex offender in Montgomery County. A compliance check includes record checks and face to face interviews with the registered sex offender to verify address, employers, vehicles and internet accounts.

Willis Young, 28, of Palatine Bridge was arrested on a parole warrant. Darren Kretser, 29, of St. Johnsville was arrested for failure to change/update residence and sent to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

In addition, numerous corrections and updates were made to the Sex Offender Registry.

The operation was funded by the United States Marshals Service.
