Lightning strike hurts circuit board

GLOVERSVILLE – During the storms last week, a lightning strike damaged a circuit board at the Water Plant, Water Department Superintendent Christopher Satterlee said.

“Everything is still operational,” he said.

The lightning strike caused the circuit board to no longer operate a valve that sends raw water into the plant, Satterlee said. Now, employees have to go to the plant to manually operate the valve.

At Monday’s meeting, the Water Department also approved the requisition of a new sludge pump and tapping machine, Satterlee said.
