Old Fort Johnson slates event July 11

FORT JOHNSON – Old Fort Johnson will hold an event at 7 p.m. July 11 to commemorate the 240th anniversary of Sir William Johnson’s death.

The event will feature a blend of music and readings from period letters. The program will feature 18th-century period musicians Liaisons Plaisante performing customary Masonic funeral hymns and marches, as well as traditional Irish music, a news release said. Several 18th-century documents relating to Johnson’s death will also be read by special guest Wade Wells.

This event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted, the release said.
