Man used stolen debit card: police
JOHNSTOWN – State police said a Johnstown man was arrested recently for using another person’s debit card.
Doren Gray, 35, of Johnstown was charged June 21 with second-degree forgery, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.
Police said a woman discovered her debit card was missing May 27. She informed troopers there were two charges made on the card – one at a liquor store in town, the other at a Mini-Mart in Gloversville – that did not belong to her.
Police said troopers got footage from the security cameras at the businesses. The same male suspect was at both stores, police said. A photo lineup was presented to a clerk, who identified Gray as the man using the stolen debit card, police said.
Gray was processed and arraigned in Town Court. He was sent to the Fulton County Jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Gray is scheduled to reappear in court.
