HealthLink slates July childbirth programs

GLOVERSVILLE – HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, announced a series of “Childbirth Preparation Classes” will begin July 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Birthing Center at Littauer, 99 E. State St.

“This class will help prepare expectant parents mentally and physically for the childbirth experience,” said certified childbirth educator Crystal O’Connor in a news release. “Topics include what to expect in late pregnancy, managing pain during labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques with basic information on newborn care and feeding options. We’ll also tour the new Birthing Center.”

Classes will meet once each week for three weeks, ending July 23. There is a $45 fee per couple that includes all three classes. Scholarships are available for those in need. To attend, call HealthLink Littauer at 736-1120.
