Aide used client’s EBT card: police
GLOVERSVILLE – State police said a home health aide was arrested Friday for using a client’s EBT card to make about $1,900 worth of food stamp purchases.
Shirlee Richtmyer, 42, of Gloversville was charged by state police with four felonies: fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree welfare fraud, second-degree identity theft and misuse of food stamps.
Police said investigators determined Richtmyer used a client’s EBT card to make about $1,900 worth of food stamp purchases at the Walmart Supercenter in Gloversville.
She was arraigned in City Court and sent to Fulton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
