Teen texted girl, 12, for sex: city police
GLOVERSVILLE – A city teenager was arrested Tuesday after an investigation determined he had sent a text message to a 12-year-old girl asking her to have sex with him, police said.
Kennetth M. J. Skinner, 17, of 19 Montgomery St. was charged by city police with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said on June 12 the Patrol Division began an investigation after a mother filed a complaint that her 12-year-old daughter was communicating by text message with Skinner.
During the messaging, police said Skinner asked the girl if she would have sex with him. The Detective Division located and interviewed Skinner.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance and is due back in City Court on June 30.
