Motorcyclist injured after hitting bear
JOHNSTOWN – A city motorcyclist was badly injured when his bike struck a black bear Friday on Route 29 in the town, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Thomas Lorey said today the crash occurred at 4:35 p.m. Friday.
He said motorcyclist Ricky A. Boyer Jr., 39, of 22 E. Montgomery St., was badly injured. He suffered various broken bones and was taken by LifeNet helicopter to the Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Lorey said Boyer was on Route 29 near Route 10A when his bike collided with the bear, ejecting the driver.
