Lucky to live in a generous small town
Small-town living was shown to be at it’s finest May 10. A benefit was held for our beautiful daughter/sister/mother/friend Mrs. Mary Jo Andrest Pedrick. Never have I witnessed such an outpouring of love and generosity from friends and strangers from near and far. It was a beautiful, sunny, early spring day and hundreds of people gave their time and money to come and show support for the entire Pedrick family as Mary Jo battles pancreatic cancer. Special thanks go out to Pat and Bill Denman of Patricia’s for hosting this event and providing us with endless food. Thanks to DJ Kenya Sing and DJ Rich Duross for giving us hours of musical entertainment. A huge thank you to Mary Day who gave much of her time to a benefit for someone she did not even know. Special thanks to the anonymous donor for concert tickets and Red Sox tickets. To the additional 90-plus businesses and individuals who donated baskets, prizes and gift certificates, we thank you and we are forever grateful for your generosity.
On behalf of Mary Jo and her family, my co-organizers Jenny Calhoun and Donna Parillo and myself, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. How lucky we are to live in this small town.
