Couple celebrates 50th anniversary
Corrado “Corey” and Charlotte (Shelmandine) Santo of Perth recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Lanzi’s on the Lake, Mayfield. The celebration was given by their children.
The couple married May 16, 1964, at St. Michael’s Church, Amsterdam. The Rev. Joseph C. Beck officiated.
The maid of honor was Deborah (Shelmandine) Rogers and the bridesmaids were Jeanette (Ziemianski) Engle, Patricia (Shelmandine) Ware and Lynne (Santo) Zarecki. The miniature bride was Lois (Marshall) Goblet.
The best man was Salvatore Santo and the ushers were Alan Shelmandine, John Stoddard and the late Robert Santo. The ringbearer was Lester Blackwood Jr.
Charlotte Santo retired from Schenectady International Group in Rotterdam Junction, Schenectady County, in 2009. Corrado Santo retired from Broadalbin-Perth Middle School in 2009.
They enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with their friends and family.
They have two daughters, Kimberly Santo of Amsterdam and Rebecca Suchy of Gloversville; and two grandchildren, Caitlyn Suchy of Glendale, Calif., and Kyle Suchy of Gloversville.
The guests attended from Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. A trip to Branson, Mo., is planned for the fall.
