Mohawks top Albany, post fifth straight win
ALBANY – The Amsterdam Mohawks improved to 7-6 overall with an 11-6 win over the Albany Dutchmen in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest Thursday at Bob Bellizzi Field.
Amsterdam scored three times in the first inning on its way to the win, which was the fifth straight for the team.
Jonathan Pryor had a two-run single in the first for the Mohawks. Pryor finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
John Razzino had a single, double and four RBIs for Amsterdam, while Joey Aiola was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. JaVon Shelby was 3-for-4 with a double for the Mohawks, who had 14 hits in the game.
Will Miller and Danny Hrbek each had two hits for Albany (8-4 overall), which lost its third straight game.
Sean Aspinall had a triple and an RBI for the Dutchmen.
Amsterdam is scheduled to travel to Adirondack today for a 7:15 p.m. contest. The Mohawks return home Saturday to host Adirondack at Shuttleworth Park at 6:35 p.m.
