Man got benefits incorrectly: police

MAYFIELD – A Mayfield man was arrested for receiving unemployment benefits while he was employed, state police said.

Michael Greco, 37, of Mayfield was charged June 6 by state police with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, both felonies.

Troopers said from May 23, 2011, through Aug. 4, 2013, Greco was paid about $23,591 in unemployment benefits. However, he was employed during that time, police said.

He was arraigned in Mayfield Town Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. He was scheduled to reappear in Town Court.
