Stefanik a bright, dynamic young leader

I am writing about the Congressional election campaign of Elise Stefanik, who is the only candidate to have entered the race before U.S. Rep. Bill Owens declared he was not seeking another term. She is running for a seat in the House of Representatives with the campaign slogan “New Ideas, New Leadership.” I have followed her efforts closely and believe she will make a great congresswoman.

Elise Stefanik was raised in a family that started a small, family-owned plywood business. Speaking from my own experience, running a small business in overregulated New York state is a real challenge – but it is a challenge with many lessons. When listening to Ms. Stefanik talking about the economy and the effects the policies that have been forced on this country by the current administration have had on business, I can understand her ideas to promote jobs in our area are rooted in her family’ s experience. When she speaks about the need to support family farms upstate, she understands how the current administration’s agricultural and environmental policies haven’t helped make it easier to successfully operate a family farm. When she states strongly the U.S. Constitution must be adhered to by all branches of our government, and the Constitution as well as the Second Amendment and all of the Bill of Rights are key foundations for every American’s God-given rights, I believe she is sincere. Clearly, Stefanik is a bright, dynamic young leader who has command of the issues. Going “elbow-to-elbow” with the old-time politicians in Congress, she will be a force to be reckoned with and I, for one, want to see her get there to take them on.

In New York, the federal primary election for Congress is Tuesday. Save that date or get your absentee ballot mailed in soon. Remind your neighbors to vote.
