Candidate sticks out

The Republican primary for the 21st Congressional District will be held June 24. When voters go to the polls, I hope they will make sure to consider candidate Elise Stefanik.

Ms. Stefanik is an exceptional leader and will be a boon to upstate. She is a Harvard graduate with a wide range of experience in politics, having served in Washington, D.C., as a member of George W. Bush’s Domestic Policy Council staff and in the chief of staff’s office. Further, Ms. Stefanik was the director of vice presidential debate prep for U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, the director of communications for the Foreign Policy Initiative and the policy director for Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s presidential campaign.

Besides having acquired an impressive political resume, Ms. Stefanik also works in sales, marketing and management for Premium Plywood Products Inc., her family’s business.

All these things add up to one conclusion, and that is Ms. Stefanik is the best candidate for the 21st Congressional District. Her background and connections in politics means she can actually do something as a freshman member of Congress. In addition, the fact she works in a family-owned business demonstrates she has the understanding and firsthand knowledge of how government red tape and taxation can affect a business environment.

Upstate New York and the 21st Congressional District would be well served by Elise Stefanik. However, she can’t start helping the area until you do your part and get out and vote June 24.
