New administrator at OESJ school
OPPENHEIM – The Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Central School District announced this week a new acting principal for the OESJ High School.
According to an announcement on its website, Ted Kawryga will serve as the acting principal of OESJ High School in the absence of Principal Ronald Smith.
The reason for Smith’s absence, or when it was effective, were not provided in the announcement.
OESJ Acting Superintendent Thomas Gallager and Board of Education President Sue Sammons could not be reached for comment.
“Mr. Kawryga is a veteran school administrator and former Dolgeville school superintendent. He will serve as acting principal until further notice,” the announcement said.
Kawryga said he received a call Monday, asking to step in at the district, but did not know the reasons for Smith’s absence. He will serve until the end of the school year, at least.
“Whether they need someone in the summer after graduation, I don’t know,” Kawryga said.
