JOHNSTOWN – The TLC TV network’s national airing of an originally intended “Bakery Boss” show – now known as “Buddy’s Bakery Rescue” – filmed last fall at Grandma Millie’s Bakery will be broadcast at 10 p.m. July 8, according to TLC.
Show star Buddy Valastro made news locally for four days in October, filming a makeover of the bakery at the Fulton County Airport on Route 67 and attending the Johnstown Harvest Festival downtown. The show was originally projected to air months earlier, but TLC decided to revamp its summer schedule and delay its broadcast.
According to a news release issued last week by TLC, the network premieres its six-episode summer season at 10 p.m. July 1.
The release says the Grandma Millie’s episode July 8 features a bakery “located in a small airport.” The release adds, “owner Chauncey [McCormick] and her family can’t get their bakery off the ground. Her son, a trained chef, wants to do more cutting-edge desserts, but Chauncey is not willing to change her menu.”
McCormick, reached Monday, said she cannot comment on the episode at this time.
