Mohawks topple Golden Eagles, 11-5

GLENS FALLS – Taylor Blatch (Florida State) had the upper hand on Brad Currao (Wagner) before he stepped on the mound. Currao wasn’t able to find the plate as he struggled in the start and gave up 6 earned runs in just a third of an inning. Amsterdam used a 6 run first inning to win the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game 11-5 over the Glens Falls Golden Eagles.

Mark Powell (Bucknell) led the Golden Eagles with a 2-5 night as he scored a run and drove in one run. Lance Miles (Kansas State) and Nick McNeil (Nova Southeastern) both provided a spark offensively for the Golden Eagles as they scored 2 runs each.

Amsterdam was led offensively by Josh Gardiner (Radford) as he went 3-5 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Jack Cseszewski (Illinois State) also went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and two runs scored. Jonathon Pryor (Wake Forest) drove in two runs as he went 3 for 5.

Thomas Hackimer (St. John’s) earned the save for the Amsterdam Mohawks as he went four innings out of the bullpen and recorded 6 strikeouts and a lone unearned run.
