Man charged with burning couch
FONDA – A Gloversville man was arrested after he was found burning furniture behind the town of Mohawk office building, authorities said.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies said Bradley A. Averick, 36, of 38 Third Ave., Gloversville, was charged Tuesday with open burning and operating a motor vehicle while his license is suspended Tuesday.
Deputies said they and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation investigated a report of a person burning furniture behind the town building. Averick was arrested after it was found he intentionally set a couch on fire, deputies said.
Averick was issued an appearance ticket and is set to appear in Mohawk Town Court on June 11 at 5 p.m. to answer the charges.
