Firefighters did great job
As we look back at the structure fire in Gloversville on May 15, we would like to take this time to thank the firefighters of Gloversville, Johnstown, Amsterdam and Berkshire who did a great job extinguishing the fire and ensuring everyone’s safety while doing so.
The fire, which damaged nine houses, including ours, was a frightening experience for the neighborhood; however, with the assistance of the first responders and quick-thinking volunteers, our family and our neighbors remained safe.
We would like to take a moment to send an extra special thank you to James Anderson (of the Gloversville Fire Department) as well as a couple of other unknown gentlemen, who took the time to hose down our house to ensure our siding, which melted, didn’t ignite. Without James asking for the garden hose, the damage could have been much worse.
As we begin repairs, we remain grateful our family is safe without displacement. This would not be the case without the quick response.
Kudos to all first responders.
