Volunteer fire department showed value

Recently we had a truck catch fire that was parked out behind our home in Sammonsville.

911 was called to dispatch the Sammonsville Volunteer Fire Department. Before its arrival, two neighbors came running with fire extinguishers – thank you, Ron and Wes.

The fire department, which is comprised of volunteers, showed up within five minutes. The fire was put out quickly. The firemen kept hosing down the back of our garage as the intense heat started to melt the siding on the back of the garage.

I am amazed by the quick response and thank God we have the volunteer department. Please do not forget how valuable these volunteer departments are. Support them in any way you can.

Again, thank you to the volunteers for their quick response and service to the area. It could have been much worse had they not been available.
