Amsterdam baseball tops Scotia-Glenville
SCOTIA – Andrew Rouse had a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to lead Amsterdam to a 5-1 win over Scotia-Glenville in the Class A Tournament quarterfinals on Friday.
Eric Robertshaw had a seventh-inning double for the Rams, who scored five times in their final at-bat to earn the win.
Ben Rhodes added an RBI single in the seventh for Amsterdam (13-8 overall), while Kolbie Glionna and Brady McGillen each had seventh-inning singles.
Julian Gallup earned the complete-game win on the mound for Amsterdam, striking out eight, walking two and scattering six hits.
Dan Zeglen took the loss for Scotia-Glenville, allowing just two hits through six innings. Zeglen also had a double for the Tartans.
The fifth-seeded Rams will face eighth-seeded Averill Park today at 1 p.m. at the College of St. Rose’s Plumeri Complex.
Averill Park defeated top-seeded Queensbury on Friday, 5-2.
