Woman’s vehicle hit on Northway

SARATOGA SPRINGS – A Fonda woman’s vehicle sustained minor damage during an accident Tuesday on the Adirondack Northway, state police said.

Police said the accident occurred when a northbound dark-colored sedan unsafely changed lanes on Interstate 87, northbound, between exits 15 and 16, shortly after 4 p.m..

The sedan struck a gray Toyota Corolla, which crossed into the path of a Toyota 4 Runner. The SUV then rolled over multiple times as it exited the shoulder of the interstate, police said.

A 2013 Dodge Dart driven by Brittney Kerr of Fonda sustained minor damage as it was struck by the SUV after the initial collision, police said.

The people in the SUV suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The dark colored sedan fled the scene and is sought by troopers. The vehicle was last seen northbound from the accident and should have driver’s side damage with possible gray paint exchange from the Corolla.
