State boosts fund for road work
JOHNSTOWN-At the Town Board meeting Monday, Highway Superintendent Theodore Bradt said the town’s highway budget will need to be amended to show a one-time increase in Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program funding.
Bradt said there was a $20,000 increase to the department’s CHIPS funding, bringing the total to $168,000. The money is commonly used to help pay for road work.
The increase was due to extra funding from the state after the rough winter and the damage to town roads, Bradt said.
Bradt said he would not expect to see extra money come again next year.
