Amsterdam baseball loses to Schalmont

ROTTERDAM – Matt Capovani, Nick Bird and Greg Musk combined on a no-hitter to lead Schalmont to a 7-2 win over Amsterdam in the championship game of the Bruce Bouck Memorial Tournament on Sunday at Schalmont High School.

Kevin Paskevich had a double, single and three RBIs for the Sabres (19-1 overall), while Musk had two singles and two RBIs.

Amsterdam slipped to 12-8 overall) with the loss.

In the consolation game, Scotia-Glenville posted an 8-3 win over Mohonasen.

Luke Mancini had two doubles for the Tartans.

On Saturday, Jordan Bernacet went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead Schenectady past Amsterdam, 7-2.

Zach Schellenger added two hits and two RBIs for the Patriots, who improved to 13-6 overall and 12-4 in Big 10 play.
