Text alerts available for city residents

GLOVERSVILLE – NIXLE community text alerts are officially up and running in the city, Police Chief Donald VanDeusen announced Friday afternoon.

These alerts are sent to those who subscribe to the free service to receive messages from the city. According to the chief, the messages include but are not limited to upcoming city events or meetings, be-on-the-lookouts, road closures and repairs, snow emergencies, missing persons, and major emergency situations.

To subscribe, go to the city’s website and click on the community text alerts icon on the front page or the police department page.
