Section II boys lacrosse pairings set

JOHNSTOWN – The Johnstown boys lacrosse team earned the fifth seed in the Section II Class C Tournament on Friday.

The Sir Bills will travel to fourth-seeded Cambridge on Tuesday for 5 p.m. quarterfinal contest.

Johnstown (9-7 overall) split its two regular-season meetings with the Indians, winning 6-5 at Cambridge on April 22 before losing 7-5 at Knox Field on Thursday.

The winner of the third meeting will face top-seeded Glens Falls in the semifinals.

Glens Falls was seeded first in Class C, Greenwich was seeded second and Lansingburgh was seeded third.

Amsterdam earned the sixth seeded in the Class B Tournament.

The Rams will travel to third-seeded Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Monday for a 4:15 p.m. contest.

Amsterdam won its final four game to end the regular season with a 9-7 overall record.

The winner will face either No. 7 seed Troy or No. 2 seed Queensbury in the semifinals.

Albany Academy earned the No. 1 seed in Class B, while Niskayuna was seeded first in Class A.
