H.S. Softball Roundup: Scotia-Glenville blanks Johnstown, 11-0

JOHNSTOWN – Jen Mayette and Zoe Purvis combined to pitch a four-hitter to lead Scotia-Glenville to an 11-0 win over Johnstown in a Foothills Council softball game Friday.

The Tartans scored four runs in the third inning and five in the seventh on their way to the win.

Johnstown slipped to 1-12 overall and 1-10 in Foothills Council play with the loss.

West Canada Valley 23, Dolgeville 1, first game

West Canada Valley 14, Dolgeville 0, second game

NEWPORT – West Canada Valley swept Dolgeville in a Center State Conference doubleheader on Friday.

Shania McEvoy picked up the win in both games for West Canada Valley (6-6 overall, 3-4 CSC). McEvoy pitched a no-hitter in the second game after allowing just three hits in the first contest. McEvoy also had two triples in the second game for the Indians.

In the first game, Morgan Lynch and Carissa Tasovac each had three hits for West Canada Valley.

In the second game, Stevie Kinzey had two hits for West Canada Valley.

Dolgeville slipped to 0-11 overall and 0-8 in CSC play with the losses.
