Diane LaVada, the daughter of the late Lawrence Carling of Mayfield and the late Barbara Carling of New York City, was united in marriage to David L. Blackwood, the son of Erma Blackwood and Eugene Krohn of Amsterdam and the late Lester Blackwood of Amsterdam, at 6 p.m. April 26.

The ceremony took place at Mayfield Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Bonnie Orth officiated.

The bridal attendants were three of the bride’s daughters, JaeDee, Jennie and Josie LaVada, all of Mayfield. The bride’s fourth daughter, Jesse LaVada of Mayfield, was unable to attend. The flower girl was Alice Blackwood of Mayfield, daughter of the bridegroom.

The groomsmen were the bridegroom’s sons, Quentin and Ethan Blackwood, both of Bristol, Conn.

A reception for 130 friends and family took place at the Johnstown Moose.

The couple spent their wedding trip in California, spending time in Hollywood, Malibu, Beverly Hills and San Diego. The couple resides in Mayfield.

The bride is a 1988 graduate of Mayfield High School and a 1992 graduate of Fulton-Montgomery Community College with an associate degree in accounting. She is a staff accountant at Spinnaker Management, Broadalbin.

The bridegroom is a 1988 graduate of Johnstown High School. He is a retail merchandiser with Advantage Sales Marketing, Albany.
