Elizabeth Duesler, 78, of Noonan Road Fort Johnson, died Friday morning May 9, 2014, at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Amsterdam.
She was born at home in Babylon, New York, on December 11, 1935, a daughter of Anton and Mary Brown Cordes and was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Babylon. Mrs. Duesler resided in Fort Johnson for the past two years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, John and Joseph, and two sisters, Marie and Mary.
Survivors include her husband, William, whom she married on July 7, 1973; six children, Marilyn (Richard), Richard, Anne (Gene), Thomas (Carol), Harriette, Scott (Shauna); three step-children, William (Gail), Robyn, and Tammy; seven grandchildren, George, Kimberly, Justin, Christopher, Anna, Gavin, and Haley; a great-grandson, George V; and two sisters, Helen and Marge.
Cremation will be performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 111 County Highway 106, Johnstown.
