Pair facing felony drug charges
NELLISTON – Two people were charged with drug possession Friday after a three-day investigation into drug sales in the village.
Jonathon K. Dixon, 43 of 79 Robinson St., Schenectady and Nora E. Kinard, 35 of 270 Mill Road, Cherry Valley, Otsego County, were charged Friday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Dixon also was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a felony.-
Sheriff’s deputies and the Montgomery County SWAT Team searched a home on Luft Lane in the village. Dixon and Kinard were not at the home, but several rifles, including an AR-15, were found and confiscated by investigators, police said in a news release.
Investigators later located the pair in a room at the Budget Inn Motel in Palatine Bridge. Investigators said they found cocaine, marijuana and an unknown amount of cash in the room.
The pair were arraigned in Palatine Town Court and sent to the Montgomery County Jail. Bail for Dixon was set at $20,000 cash. Bail for Kinard was set at $5,000.
Deputies said more arrests are pending.
